It’s been well over a year now and I can honestly say I haven’t touched a cigarette in several months.  I tried to smoke a cigarette maybe six months ago, I got less than half way through it and threw it away.  It tasted horrible and I had no desire to smoke it.

I got my wife to quit smoking also.  She’s quit for a little over a year also.  She does smoke occasional cigarettes on some weekends, but she’s basically smoke free.  I’ve always been the heavier smoker out of the two of us.

I quit with 24mg liquid, then I got down to 16mg, then went back up to 24mg, then went back down to 16mg, then down to 8mg, then back  up to 24mg, then back down to 16mg, then back down to 8mg, then down to 0mg, then back up to 24mg…  Basically I’ve been on a nicotine yo-yo in the last several months.  I find it’s very easy to go up and down in nicotine strength.  The 0mg was kind of rough for me and left me unsatisfied.

I’m using a new approach now to either get off e-cigarettes or get off nicotine.  I figure I’ve been using this product long enough and as good as my body feels I think anything done for too long a period of time can potentially be harmful (even though nothing has been proven as harmful with electronic cigarettes, who knows the actual long term effects).  I started my new approach on the strength I was using which was 24mg.  Then I used 2 30ml bottles at that strength.  After that I dropped to 16mg.  I used 2 30ml bottles of 16mg.  Then I went down to 8mg.  I used 3 30ml bottles of the 8mg.  Then since I know 0mg is my weakness.  I didn’t go to 0mg.  I mixed 1/2 0mg with 1/2 8mg to create 4mg.  I’ve used 2 30ml bottles of this mix and that brings us to today.  I’m using the 4mg and I think I’m going down to 2mg for a bottle or two starting in the next couple of days.  After 2mg I’m going to 0mg and seeing if I can stop completely.

There is definitely a big difference between having even a little bit of nicotine in the liquid and none at all.  When you’re at 0mg there is no kick whatsoever.  Since I’ve been weaning myself off slowly hopefully I won’t miss the kick.  I’m not having any problems with the 4mg and find it satisfying.  I think I’m flying through cartridges faster though.

I’ve also switched models since the first postings.  I’ve been almost exclusively using the fino KR808D-1 for almost this whole year now.  I really prefer the cartomizers over the cartridges.  I fill all of my cartomizers at once maybe once or twice a week and then I don’t have to worry about dealing with liquid all of the time.  When I go out I carry two batteries with me and maybe four cartomizers.  I still fiddle around with the other models because I do like the contrast between the different styles, but this model is the main one I use.

Hopefully on my next update I can say I quit e-cigarettes completely, but who knows?  Cigarettes and nicotine are tough habits to break.

Anyway some updates first.  Basically what ever was out of stock is now in stock. Updates are going on right now as you receive this email, so if you don’t see something in stock give it an hour or two and it should be online.

We have a new model called the Leo.  It comes with a lion on the box and everything so that is an appropriate name and it has a wood grain color to it (it reminds me of the interior of my car).  It comes with an 800mAH battery so it should last a day or two between charges depending on use.  It uses exquisito DSE801 cartridges.  Basically it uses a big cartridge.  There are some cool new features on this model that I haven’t seen on any other models.  First it has a USB plug right on the battery.  Basically if you have a cell phone, camera or any other device that uses one of those mini USB plugs you can use the same charger (of course the kit comes with it’s own charger).  The other cool feature is that it has a cap on the cartridge end so that there is no leakage and you don’t have to throw it in a carrying case or anything, you just take the cap off when you’re ready to vape.  It’s not up at the time of this writing, but it should be up in the next couple of hours.

Cartomizers are now in stock for three different models.  The models are the fino KR808D-1, the excelente 510, and the refinado RN4081.  For those that don’t know about cartomizers they are basically a cartridge and atomizer built into one piece.  They require less refills than standard cartridges for use because they hold more liquid than standard cartridges.  They are also easy to refill.  I haven’t made a video for it yet, but they come with little plastic caps on them, you take the caps off and fill one up with liquid, then you push your cartomizer right into the cap filled with liquid and the cartomizer will suck up all of the liquid.  That’s the easiest way to refill it.  They’re also only $9.95 for 5 of them.  So it’s almost like buying 5 cartridges and 5 atomizers for $9.95.  The only difference is that after several refills they don’t give too much vapor and it’s usually time to replace it.  I’ve switched over pretty much completely to cartomizers in the last few months as well as my wife, due to having to refill less.  They are available on the new cartomizer page.

We had several requests for disposable e-cigarette tips so we have them in stock now.  I don’t know about you, but whenever I go out I have people asking me what is it that I’m doing and what I’m puffing on.  I tell them what it is and sometimes they want to try it out.  Sometimes I let them try it out and then I just use another one since I do carry about three e-cigarettes at a time, but now there is a solution.  Basically it’s a plastic tip with a little hole in it.  It works with most models.  For the whistles tips since it’s soft plastic it collapses and it’s even usable with those.  We have a ton of them in stock so if you need them, they’re available all the way at the bottom of the cartridges page.

I’ve also been using the Fino KR808D-1 a lot lately.  When I first tried it out I didn’t really like it, but the quality seems to get better and better on this model.  The cartridges/cartomizers lasts me several hours and the battery lasts longer than the one’s I normally use.  I don’t really like refilling the cartomizers, but I do much less refilling because I always have a few filled one’s within arms reach and of course they last pretty long.  I’m getting tons of uses out of each cartomizer.  As long as I add liquid once the vapor isn’t tasting that great it keeps the cartomizer going strong for more refills.  I’ll post up some videos soon so you can see it in action.
